Regarding the Light of Justice Award, Leonid Finberg stated:
“I think that there are many people around me who deserve public awards no less than I do. Each of those who are now at the front deserves it even more than any of us. I am grateful to be rewarded. But in this situation, I have a measure of perception of the reward that allows me to talk about the relativity of ratings.
I don’t belittle what I and all my colleagues do. It’s very good to be recognised. Moreover, I am glad that there are some awards that I am not ashamed to accept. “When I see Mustafa Dzhemilev or Yevhen Sverstiuk among the awardees, I understand that I am on a list that, from my point of view, I have not yet earned to be on.”
