Yuliia Melnyk about the Light of Justice Award:
“I want to thank my parents, my daughter, the entire climate movement, all my teachers, and a team of like-minded people. After all, this is not my reward; it is our common one. It is difficult to work in the climate movement because sometimes it is difficult to love people who destroy nature, and changes are slow. It takes a lot of energy. That’s why we all often burn out.
I see activists as phoenixes who die and are born again to carry their light of justice again and again. No matter how difficult it is, we must stick together and never give up; we must adapt, build our own Ukraine, preserve, and enhance nature.
May God be with us as a great Creator and teach us to love every day and every minute. May His light of justice always banish the darkness of despair and evil and protect our souls from death.”
